Luise von FLOTOW, CHEN Kefang

Luise von Flotow, Professor of Translation Studies at the University of Ottawa. She received her BA in French and German at the University of London (1974), her MA in French at the University of Windsor (1985) and PhD in French at the University of Michigan (1991). As a translator and translation researcher, she has been working on the topic of gender and translation for many years. She has published extensively on feminist translation theories, and always keeps herself updated with the latest developments in the research of the connection between gender and translation. Over the past several months, she has been taking care of her little granddaughter who is seriously ill. I am more than grateful to her for taking the time to talk to me, and hope the best for her grandchild.
